Jackson is where the actual town is--full of restaurants, bars, shopping and Jackson's famous town square. Teton Village consists of the lodging, restaurants, and boutique shopping at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
Where should I stay, the town of Jackson or Teton Village?
If you're looking to spend the majority of your time skiing and don't need access to town, then Teton Village is the place to be. It offers nice lodging opportunities, restaurants within most properties, ski-in, ski-out lodging and a handful of bars. If your vacation calls for a little more diversity, then the town of Jackson offers a more central location regarding area activities. It also has a wide variety of restaurants, three movie theaters, shopping, and a handful of famous watering holes.

Is public transportation available if I don't want to rent a car?
Teton County does provide the START bus. With routes to Teton Village and the surrounding areas from Jackson, this makes for a nice alternative if you don't want to rent your own vehicle.

Can I take my own snowmobile into Yellowstone National Park?
Current regulations restrict personal snowmobile traffic into Yellowstone. A limited number of permits are given each day. All winter snowmobile and snowcoach visitors into Yellowstone during the winter months must be acccompanied by a guide service.
